Rahul Gandhi demonstrates Aikido moves in Kerala college
The Congress leader, who was on a two-day campaign visit to Kerala for the April 6 assembly elections, emphasized that women should not think that they are less powerful
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday visited St. Teresa's College in Kochi and interacted with students and even showed them some martial art techniques. Rahul Gandhi, who was in the poll-bound state for campaigning, demonstrated some moves from the Japanese martial art Aikido, in which he has trained.
The college auditorium stage was used by the Congress leader to demonstrate Aikido with the help of the students.
Referring to Aikido, Rahul Gandhi said: "That's a principle of life; as long as you are positioning yourself you all have a huge amount of strength.... Society wants to convince you that you are less powerful. For that you have to understand the way you are being pushed and position yourself accordingly."
During the interaction, Rahul Gandhi also said that women are much more powerful than men, but are being fooled by the latter as they (women) do not understand how their power works. The Congress leader, who was on a two-day campaign visit to Kerala for the April 6 assembly elections, emphasized that women should not be under the illusion that they are less powerful.
Congress is contesting on 91 seats in the upcoming Assembly polls. The election for 140-member Kerala Assembly will be held on April 6. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
