Mother’s Day: Duty first for COVID warrior mothers

This Mother's Day will be special for many families as they spend more time together due to the lockdown

However, there are hundreds of mothers who are healthcare, police, media and civil professionals

They will probably have to wait until next year to celebrate Mother's Day with their children.

Many of them have opted to stay away from families to protect their loved ones from the threat of the virus.

They don't even embrace their children to prevent the spread of coronavirus

These warriors are struggling on the professional front and are also trying to keep their family safe.

North West Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijayanta Arya is one such warrior mother

She has two sons under 10 years of age. She said, "Given the extraordinary nature of the profession...

...I don't get to spend too much time with my children, but now I feel that I spend less time with them than ever before."

Most of these mothers  have distanced themselves from children for their safety

COVID warrior moms are following the sanitization protocol and health advisory

Its emotionally upsetting but there is a need to serve the nation which is most important

One such COVID warrior mother said, " I will wait to hug my children with warmth when I return home."

When the country is facing an epidemic, these women feel that it is time for all mothers to be responsible citizens first

These mother's well understand their responsibility towards the nation besides being responsible mothers

Apart from police officers, health workers are also facing the threat of highly contagious virus.

These mother's are saving lives of thousands of people and sacrificing their time with family

Doctor Anuja said, "I really feel like a warrior fighting the pandemic with stethoscopes, pens and other medical equipment. "
