J&K targeted killing: Fans want India vs Pak T20 WC match to be cancelled
Indian fans have demanded to ban Pakistan cricket as they cannot afford to play a match against a nation that plays host to terrorism
The ICC T20 World Cup kicks off today in the UAE and Oman with the qualifiers. The Super 12 stage starts from October 23. India and Pakistan will be facing each other on October 24 in Dubai. But ahead of the match, #ban_pak_cricket is trending on social media as furious Indians took to the social media site to oppose the attacks on the Indian Army during an anti-terror operation in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Before the much-anticipated clash, Indians condemned the attacks led by a Pakistani terrorist group of the LeT on the Indian soldiers and have now demanded to ban Pakistan cricket as they cannot afford to play a match against a nation that plays host to terrorism.
Here are some comments on twitter:
One user wrote: “Army fight at borders, But it is our duty to fight in other ways. Let us boycott Pakistan Cricket so that we can cause financial loss to Pakistan...”
Another user wrote: “ISI is spreading terrorism in India in collaboration with Pak Army, the terrorists sent by them are doing cowardly attacks on our soldiers in Kashmir & in such a situation it is not appropriate for us to play cricket with Pak, it will be an insult to the martyred.
Another Twitter user wrote: “When innocent Indians are being killed in Kashmir, why there is need to play cricket with Pak. It’s high time to do surgical strikes on Pak cricket. “
Meanwhile, India have a perfect record against Pakistan in World Cup events. While the Men in Blue defeated their arch-rivals seven times in 50-over World Cups, they defeated them five times in World T20.
