Tax raid recovers over 150 cr from the businessman who manufactured Samajwadi perfume

According to reports Income Tax officials have recovered over 150 crores of unaccounted wealth in cash when they raided the offices and premises of industrialists close to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday, Dec 24th.

Reportedly bundles of cash were found stuffed in cartons and wardrobes when the IT team raided Kanpur-based perfume trader Piyush Jain.

He is the same person, who had made the Samajwadi Perfume in Nov this year during an election campaign unveiled by Akhilesh Yadav. His brother Pammi Jain is a senior leader in the Samajwadi Party.

Sources informed that raids were also conducted at various offices of Piyush Jain across Mumbai, UP and Gujarat. Apparently, the IT team is still counting wads of notes with 4 cash-counting machines and it may conclude on Friday 25th Dec.

Piyush Jain hails from UP's Kannauj and has around 40 companies, including two in the Middle East.

He is mainly into the perfume business with its base in Kannauj and owns showrooms in Mumbai from where perfumes are sold all over the country and abroad.

Besides IT teams also raided the premises of betel trader KK Agarwal in Kanpur.
