Elderly woman dies after son slaps her

In a shocking incident, an elderly woman in Delhi's Dwarka area died on spot after she was slapped by her son during an argument. The woman had got into an argument with her son, Ranveer, and his wife on the street during which he slapped her. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. The woman, 76, has been identified as Avtar Kaur.

According to the police, the son had allegedly got into a scuffle with his wife and mother over a parking issue outside a builder flat, the police had received a PCR call earlier in the day. The slap was so hard that the elderly woman fell on the road. Family members rushed her to the hospital but she was declared dead.

CCTV camera footage of the incident shows Kaur's son slapping her, following which she becomes unconscious and falls to the ground. Kaur's 45-year-old son Ranbir was arrested after a case was filed by the police under Section 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
