Several Congress leaders have slammed BJP for politicising the airstrike conducted by Indian Air Force (IAF) on a terrorist camp in Pakistan’s Balakot. BJP Chief Amit Shah had claimed on Sunday that over 250 terrorists were killed in the airstrike.

On Monday, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambram said if Modi government wanted the world to believe the air strikes and their impact on terror camps in Pakistan, then the Prime Minister must desist from Opposition bashing. In a series of tweets he also questioned “who put out the number of causalities as 300-350”.

Senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari accused the ruling party of “milking airstrike for politics”.

Earlier, Kapil Sibal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “guilty of politicising terror”. Sibal alleged that most of the international media was reporting, there was no proof of terrorists' death in the Balakot air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp.

Congress MP Ajay Singh on Saturday, March 2, said that in next 10 days, the whole sequence of events related to the airstrike will be exposed, referring to foreign media reports.

On Sunday, March 3, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had demanded that Modi government should release the evidence of the airstrikes on terror launch pads, like the United States did after killing Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
