A BJP MLA from Uttarakhand’s Rudrapur constituency, Rajkumar Thukral, was caught on video threatening a woman sub-inspector. The video, which has now gone viral shows Thukral rushing towards the sub-inspector, Anita Gairola, and threatening her to behave. The argument broke out because she had detained a couple known to the MLA for traffic violations. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday.

Gairola had detained a couple for violating traffic regulations on a busy road. The husband, who was driving a motorbike, was reportedly inebriated and began a heated argument with the police officer when he was asked for his licence and the vehicle’s documents. Soon, they were taken to a nearby police station, where the BJP MLA came to defend them. Soon an argument broke out between the BJP legislator and the cops.

The police office has filed a complaint against the BJP legislator.

Earlier in May, another video of the BJP MLA had gone viral where he was seen threatening a toll plaza operator. Before that in March, an FIR was registered against him for allegedly beating up three Dalit women and making casteist remarks in Dehradun.

He had allegedly beaten up three Dalit women outside his residence. According to the police complaint, the incident took place on March 9 when Thukral called a “Panchayat” at his residence in Rudrapur, in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district, to sort out a dispute between two families. A minor boy from a Dalit family had allegedly run away with a minor girl.

An FIR was filed in Rudrapur police station after the boy’s father Ram Kishore alleged that Thukral abused and thrashed him, his wife Mala, and daughters Pooja and Sonam. A video showing Thukral beating up and abusing the women had gone viral on social media
