RSS intervention just an attempt to mitigate anger against Modi govt, in dock for colossal governance failure

The quintessence of the government's battle against COVID is centred around the greed of capital, which happened in connivance with the RSS. Its ‘Positivity Unlimited’ campaign fools no one

RSS, the ideological fountainhead of the BJP, has come to the scene openly thorough its ‘Positivity Unlimited’ campaign after realising that the COVID crisis has begun to shake the edifices of the government. The RSS could foresee that this cannot be overcome by the usual rhetoric spouted by the Prime Minister. The human bodies floating in the Ganges do carry a message. It speaks about the social, economic, and spiritual dimension of the crisis which is the net result of the Modi government's health policy.

As in other sectors, the Modi govt’s policy is indebted to the boundless greed of the corporate capital. The human despair and anger caused by it is not something which could be addressed by the usual measures.

Some innocent minds rushed to believe that something seriously has happened in the internal dynamics of the Parivar. They even nurse a feeling that RSS has lost its hopes on the Modi government and accordingly calculate that in the absence of RSS support, the government has automatically become weaker, and it can be easily defeated.

Only the very naive however can't grasp the real nature of relations between the RSS and its Parivar members including BJP. In fact, RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat's intervention is to protect the Modi government from the people’s wrath. It is a clear-cut implementation of the strategy of 'Bahu bhashan’ (duplicity in utterances). From different corners, different people of the same creed talk differently on the same subject. In the midst of the confusion thus created, the Parivar would advance its goals in their own way.

The immense ferocity of the second wave was caused by the complacency of the government. Though doctors, scientists and experts had warned about it repeatedly, the Prime Minister and his team took it in a callous manner. They kept boasting about defeating COVID. The demand for free universal vaccination fell on deaf ears.

While crores of people in India were waiting for vaccines, the Modi government was busy exporting it to countries with less criticality, compared to India. The stormtroopers of the government were propagating the glory of vaccine diplomacy initiated by the Prime Minister.

His camp followers were always propagating the medicinal property of cow dung and urine. Their priority was Kumbh Mela where millions of people were rallied. Along with that, the BJP patriarchs paid more attention on election rallies and road shows.

Ignoring all the meaningful warnings, the government has cunningly clipped the wings of the public sector pharmaceutical companies. The ground was set for the private players in the pharmaceutical sector. The giant private producers, the Serum India and Bharat Biotech colluded with the government to loot the Indian masses. The pricing system was so ridiculous that the same medicine was sold in three different price patterns.

For the Modi government, the life and health of the people was not the concern, but the profits of the private companies. Till the other day, the Atmanirbhar government was reluctant to import vaccines from various sources abroad. The record rate of human casualties along with the super spread of the pandemic was the aftermath of the failed policies of a non-responsive government.

The head of the government was presiding over the panic situation practically doing nothing to protect people. Their slogan ‘sab ka sath’ was proven meaningless, once again. Naturally, the people at-large are disappointed and furious over the manner in which the government handled the gravest crisis of our times.

Election results in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bengal were a pointer to the anger growing among the masses. Its repercussions would naturally enter the well-guarded structure of the BJP. The 'one nation, one leader' theory is under cloud for the first time after 2014.

The RSS, well aware of the complexity of the crisis, felt the urgency to intervene directly into the political affairs. Their rescue strategy was two-fold. The first was to impress upon the people that the Sangh is also critical about government failures, and the second was to try and safeguard the government from the people's anger.

The statement by Mohan Bhagawat at the Parivar sponsored event, "Positivity Unlimited" was an example of RSS’ ‘cultural' style in the management of political crisis. He accused the government, administration and society alike for their negligence in preparing for the fight against the second wave of COVID 19.

Analysing his words, one may feel that these three 'culprits' are equally responsible for the sorrowful plight of the masses. Who in the RSS does not know that the responsibility cannot be equally shared between the foresaid three factors? Who among them believes that in presiding over the vaccination policy, the government and society hold equal authority?

After placing the three culprits on equal footing, Mohan Bhagawat exhorted that this is not the time to blame each other and called everyone to come together to overcome the difficult days. The ideologue of ‘national pride’ was not at all concerned about the gigantic loot people had to face.

The RSS and the government guided by it often talk about the ‘big battle’ against COVID-19. But the fact is that they have utterly failed to evolve a strategy during this battle. The RSS and the government are equally obliged to provide fertile ground for industrialists. The quintessence of the government's battle against COVID is centred around the greed of capital.

Marx was right in saying that if there is a chance of getting 300 percent profit "there is not a crime at which it (capital) will scruples, nor a risk it will not run, even to the chance of its owner being hanged. If turbulence and strife would bring a profit, it will freely encourage both".

During the whole period of the pandemic, the country has witnessed it. All this has happened with the connivance of the RSS. The sarsanghchalak cannot hide it with the talk of 'unlimited positivity' anymore. The people are desperate, they need a change.
