The scenario in Delhi has been changing rapidly after the alleged scuffle between the chief secretary of Delhi and two AAP MLAs. These two MLAs have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days and on the other hand, the Delhi police has conducted a raid in the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to seize the CCTV footage of this incident which allegedly took place on February 9. Annoyed at this police action, CM Kejriwal has raised questions targeting the BJP national President Amit Shah, “They have sent the police to my home. My house is being searched. It is a good thing. But when will Amit Shah be investigated in Judge Loya death case?

He further said, “Search operation of the entire CM’s residence to investigate the allegations of two slaps. Then enquiry into Judge Loya’s murder is also reasonable. Isn’t it?”

But amid this police action and the reactions, a small but significant event has taken place: Arvind Kejriwal has asked the Lieutenant Governor for an appointment to meet with his entire cabinet. He gave this information through a tweet.

So, has Kejriwal made up his mind to resign? Is he going to resign?

The LG office has given him the appointment to meet at 4 pmtoday.

National Herald has already carried a report that after the clash between bureaucracy and Delhi government, the dismissal of the Delhi government is looming large. The lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, in a report to the Home ministry, has said that Delhi is faced with a constitutional crisis. The Lieutenant Governor’s report is sufficient to recommend the dismissal of the government. It is very possible that the Central government could take the political decision of dismissing the Delhi government. Reportedly, a lot of pressure for the same is being put by the bureaucracy too.

The police raid in the chief minister’s house has definitely tarnished the dignity of the post of the chief minister. The chief minister’s adviser VK Jain had said in a statement on February 22 that the Chief Secretary’s accusations of scuffle by the AAP MLAs are correct and he himself is an eyewitness in the matter. This has tilted the entire case against AAP MLAs and the chief minister.

Now Delhi politics is left with only three options. The biggest possibility is that Arvind Kejriwal resigns to save his government from dismissal, dissolves the Assembly and ensures elections within six months. The Election Commission has already cancelled the membership of 20 AAP MLAs on charges of holding the office of profit. Kejriwal had already resigned once after running the government for 49 days. Once again, he will have the chance to prove himself a martyr.

The second possibility is that the Central government dismisses the Delhi government, referring to the report sent by Lieutenant Governor. The BJP may not get a better opportunity to avenge itself publicly. And the bureaucracy can also be appeased a little by this action.

The third option is that everything continues the way it has been. But whatever has occurred in Delhi politics in last few days makes it clear that nothing is going to be the same in the coming future.
