CBI raids houses of former MP Atiq Ahmed while he’s in prison     

The CBI on Wednesday raided former Samajwadi Party MP and mafia don Ateeq Ahmad’s Prayagraj residence.

Ahmad is currently located at the Ahmadabad Jail. He was booked in a case of alleged assault and abduction of a real-estate dealer Mohit Jaiswal while in UP's Deoria prison.

The businessman was called to the prison and then ambushed by Ahmad and his men.

The CBI team searched the entire premises and has been visiting various hotels in the area to gather information about members of the Ateeq gang, who stay frequently in these hotels.

The case was taken by the CBI upon the Supreme Court’s directions.
