Allahabad to Prayagraj: Yogi govt’s decision starts a trend on Twitter, #AajSeTumharaNaam

When the name of Mughalsarai Junction in Uttar Pradesh was officially changed to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in August this year, people were stoic in their disagreement, dissent and even in their jokes.

Now, when the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to change the name of Allahabd to Prayagraj before the Ardh Kumbh Mela in 2019, people’s reaction has been more sardonic and terse.

Besides jokes and witty remarks, a meme has taken the Indian social media by storm in which UP Chief MInister Yogi Adityanath is seen calling various national and international celebrities and telling them that from now on he/she will be called by a Hindi name.
