Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interview with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar received a lot of flak from the Twitter community. PM Modi so far has been the only prime minister who has never addressed a press conference in all his time at office, but he seems to have no hesitations in holding biased and very banal interviews with very specific individuals. Twitterati was quick to troll PM Modi for his responses as well as Akshay Kumar for his line of questions.

A lot of Twitter users took a jibe at the prime minister when he said that the former US President Barack Obama is a friend of his and talks to him addressing him as ‘Tu’. While in Hindi we have ‘Tu’, ‘Tum’ and ‘Aap’ for addressing a person, English has just one word ‘you’ for it.

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti pointed this out in a succinct tweet:

“Excuse my ignorance but how does one say tu taan in English? I am certain the chai at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg is laced with something special that muddled the mind,”

PM Modi’s desperation seems to be evident as Nikhil Wagle pointed out in his tweet, “After 3 phases of voting Modi needs actor Akshay Kumar to promote him. He seems to have lost confidence in his ‘achievements’ of 5 years!”

Some even suggested alternative career option for Prime Minister Narendra Modi:

Some prefered to focus their attention on Bollywood star Akshay Kumar for his supposedly “non political interview” with the prime minister. A Twitter user posted a table of growth in different sector post 2014 and said, “Akshay Kumar this is the growth story of India in the last 5 years. Post your candid and non-political interview with Narendra Modi.”

A few also posed a question to PM Modi over his ability to hold a series of interviews with select personas but not a single press conference in the last five years.
