The company launching in India in 2020, is developed specifically for Indian skin tones, with each product appearing as a perfect match
She has built ₹21 crores global cosmetic company, Passport to Beauty, and earn recognition from many national and international quarters.
Along with being awarded Jewel of India Award from the Prime Minister’s office and Mahatma Gandhi Award at the British Parliament House of Lords, Vadhera is using her voice to empower generations of women by changing the perception of beauty in India.
“Beauty to me has always been about looking and feeling confident,” says Shalini as she samples her line of travel-inspired glosses, blushes and concealers to a group of women ages ranging from 13 to 43.
Shalini added that while writing her book ‘Passport To Beauty’, she realised that beauty is a universal language that transcends every border. “Every woman I met had a need to look and feel beautiful and they couldn’t be happy enough to share their secrets,” she said.
By launching Ready Set Jet, Vadhera has established a social impact initiative Power Beauty Living. While breaking the stereotype that cosmetics belong to lavish society, Shalini During her recent trip covered a Mumbai slum for her product campaigning. Shalini’s demonstrated to the women there how to accentuate their already gorgeous skin.
Shalini’s rise from jewellery and fashion entrepreneur, celebrity make-up artist, bestselling author of Passport To Beauty to the founder of a ₹21 crore global cosmetics company is nothing short of remarkable.
Shalini Vadhera is now trying to bring her global success to change the perception of beauty in India.
Elaborating upon the focus of her endeavour, she says, “The world is so beautiful. The people I’ve met on my journeys are so amazing. I'm happiest when I’m living in a state of inspiration … wandering and discovering new places and getting lost in different cultures. Celebrating diversity, coming together as an empowered tribe and using it as a vehicle for global change is why I created Ready Set Jet.”
