About 19 people were killed and around 50 people were injured when an explosion occurred at a pop concert by US star Ariana Grande in the Manchester city which is being treated as a terrorist incident by the Greater Manchester Police.

Following the attack, the United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May along with other political parties has suspended her election campaign. She has announced, she will chair a meeting of the government's emergency Cobra committee in view of the attack. This attack is being considered to be probably the worst since the 2005 London bombing, that had killed over 50 people including the perpetrators.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud ‘bang’ from inside the venue, which was playing host to a concert by American pop star Ariana Grande. Video footage from the scene showed bloodied victims being helped by emergency services. Mostly young fans of the pop star were attending the show. Most of the Relatives are using social media to hunt for missing loved ones, including children, caught up in the incident.

An eyewitness has posted the account of the incident on Twitter.

23-year old pop singing sensation Ariana Grande expressed her shock and grief on Twitter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too took to Twitter to condemn the attack and convey his condolence to the aggrieved families.

The blasts reportedly went off at the end of the concert near the box office area of the venue shortly after Ariana Grande left the stage at the arena - the city's largest indoor venue with a concert capacity of around 21,000.
