It does seem to be a tough ride for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan this election even in his home constituency Budhni. His wife Sadhna Singh had to face the wrath of the people when she had gone to Budhni to appeal to them to vote for her husband. In 2003, he had won the Assembly elections in Budhni with 1,28,730 votes.

In order to ensure her husband’s win from Budhni again, Shivraj’s wife has been organising a mass-connect door-to-door programme. When she arrived in the constituency, people began heckling her. A woman can be seen furiously questioning Sadhna why they should vote for Chauhan when even the issue of drinking water has not been resolved till date.

In the video of the incident, which is being shared widely on the social media, a woman can be heard saying that the issue of drinking water has not been resolved till date.

The woman said to Sadhna Singh in anger, “When the election comes, you people say that everything will be done. But till date there is no water, Madam you make us die thirsting for water.” Even when a few people around her tried to calm her down, she refused to.

When one of the men who had accompanied the CM’s wife said, “Maintain peace”, the irate citizen wanted to know what peace he was talking about when there was no water to drink.

During this whole interaction Sadhna Singh kept quiet and seemed to be completely uneasy with the exchange. She didn’t know how to respond to the woman’s statement.

Congress State President Kamal Nath tweeted, "Mamaji, you brought the whole state to the brink of misery, but could you not have taken care of your own village. Now, Sadhana Bhabhi is being taunted by the people of Rehati for not making drinking water available. Shame on you!”

Madhya Pradesh goes to polls on November 28 and the results will be announced on December 11.
