Madhya Pradesh assembly elections are only a few days away. Various leaders are making many last hour attempts to score over each other. On Friday, BJP President Amit Shah too came to challenge the Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath in his own stronghold. Amit Shah did reach the Pandhurna Vidhan Sabha constituency in Chhindwara to address an election rally but people did not come to hear him.

Amid empty chairs and zero response from the audience in the gathering, Shah tried very hard to slam Kamal Nath but was forced to cut short his speech to only 20-25 minutes. Not only the election meeting was dull and drab but Amit Shah too apparently looked upset with the missing crowd and zeal in the meeting.

Amit Shah, who usually gives loud and passionate speeches seemed quite low on enthusiasm. The empty chairs that were quite visible during the meeting of the BJP president had to be removed during the event. However, by then the visuals of empty chairs of the assembly were already caught in camera by the media.

It is important to note here that Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara region is considered the stronghold of the state Congress Chief Kamal Nath. He has been winning the parliamentary election from there since 1980. So far, he lost from this area only once and that was in the by-elections in 1997. Even during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, when the entire country was under the influence of ‘Modi wave’, Kamal Nath's fortress remained unaffected. The Congress only won two seats in Madhya Pradesh, and one of them was Chhindwara.
