Addressing the media immediately after sending his resignation the prime minister former Union minister and RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha launched a bitter attack on the BJP, RSS and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

“Narendra Modi ji couldn't meet expectations of the people of Bihar. Nothing was done for special status. Bihar is still where it was earlier. Education and health system is non-existent. Nothing was done for Bihar. We had hoped that Modi ji will do something for social justice, bring a special package for Bihar. But nothing happened.” the RLSP leader said.

He came down heavily on Modi government for implementing the RSS agenda at the Centre and in the state of Bihar, “we demanded that the caste census report should be published. But we were not paid attention to. OBC (Other Backward Classes) feel cheated today. What the government did was only to implement the RSS agenda in the universities and ignore social justice altogether,” he added.

Slamming the Bihar chief minister Upendra Kushwaha alleged that Nitish Kumar wants to destroy him and his party, a campaign which was started by the BJP, “my party was not given any ticket in the by elections and Bihar by elections were lost due to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s anti reservation statement.”

He claimed that both the BJP and JD (U) have humilaited him and his party publicly. “We tried right till the end to try and sort out the issues. But it did not happen.

“After observing everything I feel I shouldn't have stayed in the cabinet even for a minute to implement RSS agenda. So I tendered my resignation as the Union Minister and I've also decided that Rashtriya Lok Samta Party will no longer be a part of NDA,” he said.

Commenting on the grand alliance and the future of his party, Kushwaha said that all options are open before him.

“There are three options before us--that we fight elections on our own, we may join the Grand Alliance or we may form a third front.” He also said that his party may contemplate a merger with Sharad Yadav’s Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD).
