UP is governed by mafia and smugglers, says state Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu
“By sending small fish to jail, the UP government took credit. But people are saying that UP is governed by mafia and smugglers,” state Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu said
President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Ajay Kumar Lallu on Thursday launched a blistering attack on the Yogi government and said that the state is run by mafia and smugglers.
Attacking the Yogi government over hooch tragedies that occurred all over the state, Lallu said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has talked a lot in the Assembly, initiated an SIT probe but mafias were saved by the people sitting in Home Department. Incidentally, CM Adityanath holds the charge of the Home Department.
Referring to a statement made by state minister Jagdish Mishra alias Balti Baba, Lallu said, “In the name of action against hooch trade, a lot has been said in the Assembly but the end result is that more people died due to the poisonous liquor. Now the state minister in the Yogi government has accepted it.”
“When people died in Kushinagar, people sitting in the Home Department have saved the mafia,” said Lallu.
“By sending small fish to jail, the UP government took credit. But people are saying that UP is governed by mafia and smugglers,” added Lallu.
In February 2019, more than 80 people died in Saharanpur district after consuming spurious liquor, following which the Yogi government formed a SIT.
According to an independent estimate, as many as 143 people have died after consuming spurious liquor in three and a half years of the Yogi government.
