Amid Maharashta’s political drama after the recent assembly election, MNS chief Raj Thackeray met NCP chief Sharad Pawar at his residence on Saturday. This meeting hints that Shiv Sena is exploring options to form government with NCP.
The meeting between the two leaders lasted around 15 minutes but the purpose of the meeting is not clear yet.
The meeting comes in midst of the political drama which is going on in Maharashtra. Two weeks after the assembly election, the state is till waiting for a government and a Chief Minister. Shiv Sena and the BJP fought the election in an alliance and also have the number to form a government, but the two parties are fighting over the Chief Ministerial post.
Shiv Sena wants the CM’s post should be rotated among the two parties but the BJP currently has no plans for doing so.
While BJP and Shiv Sena are trying to sort out their differences, Shiv Sena has hinted that they are exploring other options like forming the government with Congress and NCP in the state.
In the recent elections, the BJP has 105 seats, Shiv Sena has 56, Congress has 44 and the NCP has 54 seats.
