Red Fort violence: Delhi Police get accused Deep Sidhu’s custody for another seven days

Delhi Police has claimed that Deep Sidhu instigated the mob to breach barricades with tractors and deviate from approved route on Republic Day during the tractor rally organised by protesting farmers

The police custody remand of actor Deep Sidhu was extended on Tuesday for another seven days in a case concerning the violence that took place at Red Fort during the farmers' tractor rally held on January 26.

On the expiry of his seven-day police remand, Sidhu was produced by Delhi Police before the Duty Magistrate earlier in the day, Bar & Bench reported.


As per Delhi Police, Deep Sidhu was the main instigator behind the violence that took place on Republic Day during the tractor rally organised by protesting farmers.

Delhi Police has claimed that Sidhu instigated the mob to breach barricades with tractors and deviate from the approved route.

Sidhu was arrested on February 9, 2021 in connection with an FIR registered for commission of offences under sections 147/148/149/152/186/269/279/353/332/307/308/395/397/427/188/120B/34 of Indian Penal Code and 25/27/54/59 of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Destruction of Public Property Act.
