Modi government’s thinking is against the Muslims but the CAA-NRP-NRC are against the common people of India said celebrated author Arundhati Roy on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering of anti-CAA protesters at Shaheed Smarak, which is popularly known as the Shaheen Bagh of the pink city – Jaipur, Roy said that all are fighting against the discriminatory law.

Sharing her experience with the protesters, the Booker prize winner said that BJP government implemented CAA in Assam thinking that it will only affect the Muslims but in the end everyone got affected.

It maybe recalled here that nearly 20 lakh people, mostly Hindus were left out of the roll after the CAA was completed in Assam.

Saying that she had fought many such battles against the government from the fight for the rights of tribal to the fight for the justice to Dalits, Roy haied the protest, saying, “Your voice has been heard all over the world”.

“We have to come forward to help one another within minutes. Though it does not mean that we have to always be out on the streets but our mind should be on the road all the time. When you fight for the rights of others, it is called the fight for justice,” she added.

Debunking claims made by the troll army associated with the ruling party and the mainstream media according to which only Muslims are protesting against the CAA, Roy said, “All are fighting against the CAA…We all have to struggle for all of us.”
