Live: Rahul targets Modi for failed promises at Jan Aakrosh rally

The rally aims to bring overall change and awakening in the country and will represent the outrage of the farmers, price rise, women security, and corruption occurring right under the nose of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Congress

The rally will herald the party’s election campaign for the next general election. While the election is a year away, a section of party leaders believe the Government plans to advance the election and will try to club some of the state elections due later this year with the general election.

Congress sources say they expect around 200,000 supporters to attend the rally. “There is a lot of enthusiasm among the Congressmen for this rally as this is the first public rally after Rahul Gandhi was elected President of the Indian National Congress” said former Minister of Delhi Haroon Yusuf

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) which is hosting the rally has made elaborate arrangements with many firsts. DPCC President Ajay Maken appealed to Congress workers to be at the historic Ramlila Maidan by 9.30 am

Congress communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala says everyone in this country is outraged. “Farmers are outraged because they have not been given the right price for their produce. Dalits are outraged. Youth are outraged because they are not given jobs. Through this Jan Aakrosh Rally we want to establish that we will remove BJP from power.”

The former Congress President says that every section of the society is anxious. Even minor girls are not safe. “Modi has cheated the youths, the farmers and the economy has been completely ruined by the policies of the Modi government. Due to inflation, women are the most affected.”

“In Modi Raj, corruption has become rampant and it is deeply entrenched. The whole country is going through a violent phase. The Modi government has weakened all institutions.”

“The Modi government is destroying all the institutions under the instructions from the RSS. The judiciary is going through a deep crisis. It has never happened before. Media cannot fulfill its responsibilities. It is a challenging time for the country.”

Sonia Gandhi says the country will come together under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Modi wants to weaken the foundation of the country. “We will fight those who cheated the country,” adds Sonia Gandhi

We are a country of faith and this faith has to stand upon truth. Our PM makes a lot of promises. He speaks about farmers and youngsters devoid of truths. India is a religious country. A country where temples, mosques and churches co-exist. We go to pray in all of them.
