UG, PG exams after resumption of physical classes in Odisha
The Odisha government on Monday said that the conduct of examinations for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students will be considered after the resumption of classroom teaching and completion of syllabi.
Higher Education secretary Saswat Mishra has written to Vice Chancellors of universities and principals of colleges coming under the department to convey the decision not to conduct UG and PG exams in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
He said it was not desirable to hold examinations only on the basis of online teaching.

The Nepal government on Tuesday will reveal the revised height of Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak, the media reported on Monday.
The announcement will be made by the Department of Survey on Tuesday afternoon during an event, The Himalayan Times newspaper reported.
The current height of the mountain, 8,848 metres, was measured in 1954 by the Survey of India.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has pledged support to the December 8 nationwide strike called by farmers over the new agriculture laws, and said protests would also be held in his state against the Centre's "conspiracy to reduce the country's owners to labourers".
Taking to Twitter, Soren, who is also the executive chairman of the ruling JMM, said hardworking farmers are the pride of the nation.
"Protests will also be held in Jharkhand against the central government's conspiracy to reduce the country's owners to labourers. The JMM fully supports Bharat Bandh on December 8," the chief minister tweeted.

Brothers held under anti-conversion law in UP
Two brothers, including the groom, have been booked under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance, in the Kanth tehsil of Moradabad.
Vidya Charan Shukla, Superintendent of Police, Moradabad Rural, said the case was registered based on the complaint of the daughter's mother.
According to police, a woman from Bijnor filed a complaint that her daughter was being married after converting her religion. On this complaint, a case has been registered against two brothers who belong to Kanth in Moradabad.
Both persons were arrested and the investigation was underway.
The woman, meanwhile, said, "I am 22-years-old and had married Rashid five months ago according to my wish. He did not force me to marry and convert."
It may be recalled that last month Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel had promulgated the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance 2020.
