According to the Ministry of Finance, the Income Tax department carried out a search & seizure operation on a prominent road construction contractor in Bihar and Jharkhand, reported ANI. The search operation which began on October 27 was conducted at various locations in Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, & West Bengal. The operation resulted in the seizure of Rs. 5.71 crore unaccounted cash. 10 bank lockers have been put under restraint, investment made in fixed deposits of about Rs. 60 crore is being verified and unaccounted income of about Rs. 100 crore has been detected.
