ANI reported, 2 days after an encounter in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, the body of Naxal commander Sukhlal Parchaki (33) has been found at the encounter site. He was carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakhs. With this, the number of Naxals killed in the encounter reached 27: Senior MHA official.

According to IANS, a mutilated body of an unidentified 40-year-old woman was found in Dhekala village, under the Adampur police circle in Amroha district.

The woman's head was found about 50 yards from the body in a field on Monday. Her head had been severed with a sword recovered from the spot where the body was found.

PTI reported, Enforcement Directorate has taken vice chairman and managing director of real estate group IREO, Lalit Goyal, into custody in connection with a money laundering probe against him, officials said on Tuesday.

Two labourers were killed when a wall of an under-construction building collapsed on them in Noida, an official said on Tuesday.

According to the official, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Monday at a four-storied building in Sector 2, Noida where a construction work was in progress.

Additional DCP, Gautam Budh Nagar, Rann Vijay Singh said that the newly constructed wall collapsed on two labourers who were tying the iron bars at the basement.

"As there was a clamour in the area after security guards raised an alarm, we received the information about the incident and immediately dispatched a team to the spot," the Additional DCP said.

When the police team reached the spot, it found both the labourers in a critically injured state. The two were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

"The contractor, identified as Rajan, who had engaged the labourers into the construction works and another labourer present at the site, are absconding after the incident," the official said.

A search operation has been launched to nab them. It was learnt that the owner of the building resides in the US and had given the building on rent.

A case has been registered and further probe is on, the official added.

Equity benchmark Sensex fell over 100 points in early trade on Tuesday tracking losses in index majors Reliance Industries, HDFC twins and Kotak Bank despite largely positive trend in global markets, PTI reported.

The 30-share index was trading 122.35 points or 0.20 per cent lower at 60,596.36 in initial deals. Similarly, the Nifty fell 45.45 points or 0.25 per cent to 18,064.

HDFC was the top loser in the Sensex pack, shedding over 1 per cent, followed by Kotak Bank, Asian Paints, Kotak Bank, Reliance Industries and PowerGrid.

On the other hand, Tata Steel, M&M, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti, Nestle India and Tech Mahindra were among the gainers.

In the previous session, Sensex settled 32.02 points or 0.05 per cent higher at 60,718.71. Similarly, the Nifty rose 6.70 points or 0.04 per cent to 18,109.45.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital market, as they purchased shares worth Rs 424.74 crore on Monday, as per exchange data.

"Market direction is likely to be influenced largely by global developments, particularly the market's response to rising inflation.

"US and European markets shrugging off the high US inflation rate of 6.2 per cent is very significant and this is likely to impart resilience to global equity markets in the short-term even while there is concern about elevated valuations in stock prices," said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services.

Back home in India, the RBI has again cautioned that stock prices in India are much higher judged by the traditional parameters of valuation. But the central bank is optimistic about the growth recovery underway in the Indian economy, he noted.

Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul were trading with gains in mid-session deals.

Stock exchanges in the US ended marginally lower in the overnight session.

Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.89 per cent to USD 82.78 per barrel.
