Keeping in view the sharp surge in COVID cases across the state, the Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday decided to impose a ‘corona curfew’ in Kangra, Una, Solan and Sirmour districts from 10 PM to 5 AM from midnight April 27 to May 10.

Besides this, the government has made RT-PCR tests within 72 hours mandatory for all those visiting the state.

The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Shimla today.

It was decided that in case those visiting the state have not undergone a RT-PCR test, they would have to remain in home quarantine/isolation at the place of their residence for fourteen days. They would also have the option of getting themselves tested after seven days of their arrival, and in case the test comes negative, they do not require to remain quarantined.

Local bodies, both in urban and rural areas would be closely involved in effective enforcement of all the SOPs and guidelines in their respective areas and empowered to initiate legal action against the violators so as to check the spread of this pandemic.

The government has also decided to set up a Special Task Force (STF) at the local level for effective enforcement of SOPs during all religious, social, political and cultural gatherings. They would be empowered to initiate strict action against people violating the guidelines and SOPs issued by the state government from time to time.
