Brother of Congress leader Surjewala’s PA shot at in Kaithal, stable

A few armed assailants on Tuesday fired at and injured the brother of Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala’s personal assistant Balwinder Malik at his house in Kaithal, Haryana. The victim, Neeraj Malik, is said to be out of danger.

Neeraj lives in Sector 19 in Haryana’s Kaithal. According to eye witnesses, a few men knocked on Neeraj’s door and as soon as he came out to see, the men fired multiple rounds at him. Neeraj was hit in the leg. The men fled on motorcycles.

He was rushed to the local government hospital where is condition is said to be stable. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately known.

As soon as Surjewala got the news, he reached the spot and helped in taking Neeraj to the hospital. A video of Surjewala accompanying the injured youth at the hospital has also surfaced.

Surjewala has contested the Haryana Assembly election from Kaithal.
