The Malayalam film Helen helmed by Mathukutty Xavier, bagged the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Feature. And producer Boney Kapoor cannot stop preening. Xavier will now be helming the Hindi version of Helen with Janhvi Kapoor in the lead.

Says Boney, “When I saw Xavier’s Helen I couldn’t believe he was a first-time director. Xavier has won the National award for best directorial debut for Helen. He deserves it.”

Xavier is now directing the Hindi remake of Helen with Janhvi Kapoor in the lead.

Says the proud and nervous father. “I’ve produced 41 films so far. This is the first film I’m producing for my daughter. I’m nervous and excited.”

Janhvi has now joined her sister Khushi in Los Angeles for a 10-day holiday. A video showing Janhvi at the airport running back to hug her father before boarding has gone viral.

Getting emotional Boney says, “I was supposed to go with Janhvi to LA to meet Khushi. But there’s too much work here. I have a Telugu release Vakil Babu (the Telugu version of Pink) coming up in April.”
