Arun Jaitley back as Finance Minister
President Ram Nath Kovind has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Arun Jaitley
Arun Jaitley will be taking charge of the Finance Ministry on Thursday. President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday reassigned the Finance and Corporate Affairs portfolios to Union Minister Arun Jaitley, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
"The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Arun Jaitley" it said.
Jaitley will resume charge of both finance and corporate affairs portfolios on 23 August, at the North Block office in New Delhi.
Jaitley underwent a renal transplant on 14 May and on the same day, his ministerial charges were given to Union Minister Piyush Goyal on an interim basis.
