7 children feared dead after bus falls into gorge in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Seven feared dead after a school bus, carrying 18 children, rolled down a gorge in Kangsali of Tehri Garhwal on Tuesday.

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has been rushed to the spot. The injured have been shifted to a hospital.

Police team is present at the spot. Rescue operation is underway.

The incident occurred on the Pratap Nagar-Kangsali-Madan Negi motor road when the van was on its way to Madannegi, Tehri District Magistrate V Shanmugam said.

Two children escaped with minor injuries and the injured have been brought to the District Hospital Bauradi, he said.

Rescue operations are underway, the DM said.
