The anti-CAA protests continue to raise the voice of dissent against the law for more than two months now.

The anti-CAA movement is first of its kind where not only muslims, but people across all religions have come together.


The most significant trend that has turned the movement into an unprecedented one in recent history is the participation of celebrities.

From the inception to implementation, celebrities of all fields have put strong voices in disagreement.

Hundreds of scientists, scribes, actors, directors, singers and politicians continue to oppose the law.

Celebrities have come forward in defence of protests that have spread across the country.


Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap, who has always been vocal about Modi government's policies visited Jamia and Shaheen Bagh recently.

He also wrote, "This has gone too far.. can't stay silent any longer . This government is clearly fascist .. and it makes me angry to see voices that can actually make a difference stay quiet".

Uri: The Surgical Strike actor Vicky Kaushal and critically acclaimed Rajkummar Rao have also raised concerns over the future of the country.

Priyanka Chopra, Konkana Sen Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar, Richa Chaddha have also openly voiced their concerns against CAA.


Ayushmann Khurrana who is known for his social-drama films also came forward and appealed for peace.

Ayush man reminded the countrymen about Gandhi's principles of Ahimsa and said, "Dear countrymen, this is the land of Gandhi. Ahimsa is and should be the tool to express."

Riteish Deshmukh also shared the  message: " All of us have the right to protest and exercise our fundamental freedom of expression. That simply is counter productive".

Masaan actor Richa Chaddha admired the solidarity of the country and wrote, " THIS IS OUR COUNTRY and no one can tell us we don't belong. NO ONE. ???? To hope. Jai Hind."


Parineeti Chopra, Anubhav Sinha praised the women agitators. Sinha said, "And all the protesting girls.... The country is PROUD OF YOU ALL...".

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra and veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee said,there must never be a time when we fail to protest.

Other actors, like Sidharth Malhotra, Dia Mirza, Huma Qureshi, Prithviraj Sukumaran have also expressed their displeasure over the implementation of CAA.

Award winning author Arundhati Roy has been actively participating in the anti-CAA protests.


Arundhati at one such protest on Thursday said, the whole nation is with the protesters and the fight must go on.

Actor Sushant Singh, participated in a protest rally against the CAA and NRC recently and said that the Centre would have to withdraw the contentious citizenship law.

Besides the stars from entertainment industry, politicians like P.Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor and many others have been opposing the CAA.

The movement witnesses the maximum participation of celebrities and intellectuals.
