Will Mahesh Babu play Draupadi’s Arjun in Mahabharat

Deepika Padukone has found her match in Mahesh Babu. There is a buzz that south superstar Mahesh Babu has been approached to play the role of Arjun in Mahabharat. The film is being produced by Deepika Padukone and Madhu Mantena.

Deepika Padukone is not the first one to play Draupadi, Parliamentarian Roopa Ganguly essayed the part in BR Chopra's Mahabharat. Mallika Sarabhai played the part in stage adaption of Mahabharat by Peter Brooks.

Draupadi is probably one of the most sought after heroine in the cultural history of our country. Deepika when asked about her role had said that she is absolutely thrilled and honoured to be playing the role of Draupadi. She said, “I truly believe that it is the role of a lifetime. While the Mahabharata is popularly knows for its mythological tales and cultural influence, many of life's lessons are also derived from the Mahabharata but most often from its men. Telling it with this fresh and new perspective will not only be interesting but also very significant.”

Some of the other names likely to be associated to the film could be Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
