The Deols barred from shooting in Punjab?

Reports from Punjab suggest that the farmers’ agitation has now reached  Bollywood. Apparently, last week Bobby Deol was barred from shooting in Patiala because of his family. Apparently, the agitating farmers are not happy with Dharmendra’s elder son Sunny Deol and wife Hema Malini’s affinity to the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party and with their pro-Government stance in the ongoing farmers’ agitation.

The anger of the Punjabi farmers against the Deols has deeply hurt Dharmendra who has always considered himself a proud Punjabi son of the soil.

In an interview with me some years ago Dharmendra had gotten emotional while speaking of Punjab. “Even now  I am that boy from Ludhiana who left home to become an actor in Mumbai. Punjab is my  home.”

During the current farmers’ agitation, Dharmendra has held his peace due to his family’s connection with the ruling government.
