Anubhav Sinha wraps his social drama 'Bheed' in Lucknow after 40 day start-to-finish schedule
Staying true to his style of long preparation and quick shoots, Sinha completed the film in record time
Right in time for the year-end, Anubhav Sinha completed the shoot of his next directorial Bheed. Shot in Lucknow and other adjoining towns, Sinha’s social drama led by the crackling ensemble comprising Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, amongst others was shot through November and December. Staying true to his style of long preparation and quick shoots, Sinha completed the film in record time.
A source from the set tells us, “Bheed is a complex and layered subject. Given the nuanced nature of the subject, Anubhav Sinha and his team had storyboarded the whole film with an efficient scene break up to ensure the film is wrapped before New Year. A performance-heavy film, Sinha prepped the actors for months before the film went on floors, as a result of which the actors knew the script thoroughly. It was a straight 40 start to finish schedule for the team.”
Known for his sharp social dramas like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad, the filmmaker has single handedly created a sub-genre in Bollywood of conscientious films. Narratives that trigger pertinent social discussions have come to be Sinha's forte and Bheed is an extension of the same value system of his. His productions are qualitatively superior, with a solid story that Sinha elevates with his midas touch.
With Bheed wrapped, the filmmaker will gear up for the release of his next - Anek, starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Backed by the filmmaker’s own stable Benaras Mediaworks and T-series, Sinha will give the final touches to the film’s edit before beginning work on the elaborate promotional material for the movie.
