‘Tum jiyo hazaaron saal’, Shah Rukh wishes Salman Khan on his 52nd birthday

Salman Khan has plenty of reason to celebrate his 52nd birthday with a smile on his face. His new release Tiger Zinda Hai is a stupendous hit. He celebrated his birthday with his Tiger Zinda Hai co-star Katrina Kaif at his Panvel farmhouse late Tuesday night.
Shah Rukh Khan wished his Karan in a different style. He sang a song for his Karan Arjun counterpart.
"Tum jio hazaaron saal.... I wish him all the best. I won't be able to meet him tomorrow because my children are here and I want to spend time with them. But we will celebrate when he comes back. We can celebrate Salman Khan's birthday month long," IANS quoted Shah Rukh as ssaying at the event.
Anushka Sharma named PETA's Person of the Year
Newly-wed actress Anushka Sharma has been named PETA's Person of the Year by animal rights organisation People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Known for movies like "PK", "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", Anushka is a vegetarian, has nabbed the title for helping to protect dogs from fireworks to advocating for horses who are forced to pull carriages in Mumbai.
"Anushka Sharma is a proud animal rights proponent whose kindness and initiative know no bounds," PETA Associate Director Sachin Bangera said in a statement.
"PETA is calling on everyone to follow her lead by eating healthy plant-based meals, helping community animals by speaking up when they are suffering, and always keeping an eye out for new ways to help animals," Bangera added.
Anushka, who married cricket star Virat Kohli earlier this month, was in 2015 named PETA's Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity.
Some of her recent efforts to protect animals include launching her cruelty-free NUSH clothing line, visiting an animal shelter and promoting its work on her social media platforms, launching a campaign called PAWsitive to raise awareness of the suffering fireworks cause to animals, and taking to Twitter to demand a ban on cruel carriage rides in Mumbai.
She also has an adopted dog named Dude.
Twinkle Khanna auctions outfit to raise money for animal
Author-producer Twinkle Khanna has put one of her outfits for auction to help raise funds for Panchgani-based animal shelter Janice Smith Animal Welfare Trust.
Khanna wore the outfit in a PC jeweller advertisement where she featured alongside actor-husband Akshay Kumar.
The bidding for the outfit started from Rs 2,25,000 and currently stands at Rs 3,50,000.
A bid can be placed on BidKartz and the money raised from the auction will go to Janice Smith Animal Welfare Trust.
"Bid for this gorgeous outfit featured in PCJ ad @bidkartz and the money goes straight to supporting an animal shelter in my good old Panchgani!," Khanna tweeted.
The winner will also get an autographed book that Khanna authored and a personalised thank you note.
