‘Student Of The Year 2’ trailer launched, receives mixed reactions on social media

The trailer of Student of The Year 2 was launched by Karan Johar and the entire cast in Mumbai on Friday. Slated for release on May 10 worldwide, the film has been directed by Karan Johar's assistant Punit Malhotra. The  new students in this franchisee are Tiger Shroff and two debutant actresses Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. When the team was asked if they were competing with the earlier students, Tiger Shroff said, “I would like to compete with Varun Dhawan in dance and athletics and Sidharth Malhotra in kabaddi.”

Like SOTY, the part 2 of the franchisee is also in the same commercial zone with almost everything that is required and expected from a Karan Johar film. The trailer gave us a glimpse of an old song Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani wherein all the three characters are dancing to the remix version of the song. Karan Johar said, “ ‘SOTY’ had Disco Deewane and the second installment has Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. We wanted a remix in the film and this one is one of my favorites.”

Adding further he said, ``I am a huge fan of Kishore Kumar songs and the original has been retained in the film.”

There have been reports about Hollywood actor Will Smith who has been visiting India very often as part of Student of the Year, Karan gave an ambiguous answer saying, `` Will Smith was shooting for his Facebook show in India while we were shooting for SOTY 2. He practised and danced to Radha from SOTY as he had a bollywood dance act on his bucket list. If he is a part of  the movie or not I am not saying anything.''

Tara Sutaria who is also a good singer when asked about singing and competing with Alia as a singer said, ``Alia sings Hindi songs very well I won’t be able to compete with her.''

Both the actresses are already being linked with their co stars even before release of thier first film. Ananya said, ``Ananya and I have been linked to our co stars of our second films ( Ananya with Kartik and Tara with Siddharth Malhotra). Guess that is part and parcel of Bollywood.'' The actress laughed off when asked if any of it was true.

Both Ananya and Tara and had one common thing to say about Tiger Shroff. Tara said , ``Tiger Shroff's sweet boy image is fake. He is the naughtiest of the lot'' Ananya added and said, “Tiger is sweet but if you leave him alone with his boys then you will see his true colours.''
