Firangi: Another Thugs of Hindostan poster with traces of Pirates of Caribbean
Firangi is another character of the film Thugs of Hindostan, which was revealed on Monday. The film’s motion posters are being criticised for their resemblance with Pirates of the Caribbean
The YRF production, Thugs of Hindostan is perhaps the most awaited film of the year. The producer is very intelligently revealing the characters of the film one by one, introducing the characters and igniting the audiences’ curiosity all at once.
Revealing the first look of his character, Firangi, in the film, Aamir Khan wrote on Twitter; ‘Aur ee hain hum, Firangi Mallah, Hamse zyada nek-dil insaan dharti par nahi milega aapko. Sachchai to hamara doosra naam hai aur bharosa hamra kaam, Daadi Kasam.’
(And this is I, Firangi Mallah, there’s no one more kind-hearted than Firangi on this earth. I am personification of truth and I am trust-worthy.)
Last week, the motion poster of the film revealed Katrina Kaif as Suraiyya, Fatima Sana Shaikh as Zafira, Amitabh Bachchan as Khudabaksh and Lloyd Owen as John Clive.
Well-known critic and box office analyst Taran Adarsh welcomed Aamir Khan as Firangi saying that this film is going to be an epic blockbuster:
But all these motion posters of the film Thugs of Hindostan bear an uncanny resemblance with the Hollywood’s iconic series Pirates of the Caribbean. The netizens were quick to notice it and Twitter saw a series of scathing comments too.
The earlier posters too though found their place in the trending topics of the day but were criticised for their similarities with the posters of the American drama series Game of Thrones and the popular Hollywood flick Pirates of the Caribbean.
Criticism or praise, one thing is for sure--Thugs of Hindostan has caught the fancy of Hindi film audiences and is sure going to rock on the box office.
The film, which is reportedly based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions Of A Thug , is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and is scheduled to release on November 8.
