Entertainment: Deepika shimmers in yellow at Cannes
It is Deepika’s debut on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival but she is already grabbing the attention by her elegant looks
Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is on a mission to woo the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. After three splendid appearances on day one, the 31-year-old actor is ready to win the French Riveria on the second day.
Dressed in a yellow figure-hugging dress with wide sleeves, with minimal jewellery and tie-up heels, the actor looked all set to enchant. This is Deepika’s first appearance on Thursday, which will also see her walk the red carpet in the evening.
She took to her Instagram account and shared this dreamy sun-kissed look that can make anyone go gaga over it.
Deepika Padukone has been at the Cannes before but this is the first time she is representing cosmetics giant L'Oreal Paris.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will walk the red carpet on May 19 and 21 respectively. Other Indian celebrities expected at the Cannes Film Festival 2017 are Shruti Haasan and music composer AR Rahman.
Pakistan too likes Baahubali 2
Bahubali 2: The Conclusion has impressed Pakistani audiences too. The neighbouring country is in awe with this Indian film directed by SS Rajamouli. It was released in the major cities of the country.
The makers of Baahubali 2 have confirmed that the Prabhas-starrer film has been well received by the Pakistani audience.
Veteran Pakistani distributor Amjad Rasheed was quoted as saying, “The film has especially got a huge response in single screens, even though it purports mythology and Hindu tradition to a certain extent.”
It is expected that film will collect 6 crore Pakistani rupees at the box office, latest trade figures suggest.
Since the film is deeply rooted in Indian ethos, Pakistani officials were a little uncomfortable at first. However, later on everything seemed fine and positive.
Salman, SRK, Akshay inspire me, says Suniel Shetty
Actor Suniel Shetty says that rather than resenting the success of his contemporaries, he seeks inspiration from their achievements.
“I am mentally very secure. Financially, there will be ups and downs. I have been saying no (to films) so I am not seen enough; but that's okay,” the actor was quoted as saying.
The 55-year-old actor says his contemporaries are doing much better work today and he is happy for them.
“People like Salman, Shah Rukh, Akshay, Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan inspire me. And more so Salman, Ajay and Akshay as I am close to them,” he said.
Suniel will be now seen on the big screen after a gap of three years with Reloaded, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, and in choreographer-turned-director Bosco Martis's Circus.
Apart from these two projects, the actor says he is also working in a silent film.
He would be also seen as a reality show India's Asli Champion..Hai Dum!, to be aired on &TV channel.
