Did Salman play a hand In Ranbir’s dark phase?

It is well-known in the film industry that you can’t flourish if you get in the bad books of ‘Bhai’ better known as Salman Khan. A case in point? Vivek Oberoi who took a panga with Salman way back in 1998 .

Vivek’s career rapidly came to a standstill.

Some such decline would have been Ranbir Kapoor’s fate too after Salman took a solid dislike to the younger actor for stealing Katrina Kaif out of his life and then dumping her unceremoniously.

Sources say the directors and producers loyal to Salman refused to work with Ranbir. Sajid Nadiadwala a close friend of Salman’s , had worked with Ranbir back in 2010 in Anjana Anjani. But never thereafter.

“Several times Sajid came close to working with Ranbir but pulled out. We can only guess at his reasons for doing so. Yash Raj films who did Bachna Ae Haseenon with Ranbir has also stayed away from Ranbir after Salman came on board to do the Tiger series. Only Karan Johar among the big banners favoured Ranbir. And Salman has never worked with Karan Johar,” says a source in the know.

All that has changed after the bumper success of Ranbir’s new film Sanju. Now we hear of Sajid Nadiadwala planning a film with Ranbir who is already working with Yash Raj in Shera Shamshera.

With Ranbir’s Sanju out-racing Salman’s Race 3 at the boxffice maybe the Khan’s power has diminished somewhat. Maybe now he is no longer powerful enough to tell his producers and directors whom not to work with.
