A lady teacher in Gorakhpur was suspended following a complaint from parents that she was ‘glorifying’ Pakistan during her online classes.

The police have lodged a complaint and an investigation is on.

The matter came to notice on Saturday after the parents of class 4-A of a prominent private school in Gorakhpur complained that a lady teacher was giving examples of Pakistan while e-teaching grammar and the examples were posted on a WhatsApp group of the students.

While teaching noun she wrote in the WhatsApp group: 'Pakistan is our favourite mother nation’. Then she wrote: ‘I will join Pakistan army' and ‘Rashid Minhad was a brave soldier".

After parents took screenshots of these posts, it was circulated in other WhatsApp groups and in no time it became viral. The school management took note of this and served a notice to the teacher and also made a police complaint.

The school management said that school only allows NCERT syllabus and it was mischievous and scandalous for the teacher to give such examples.

The teacher in question has apologized and gave a letter to the police saying that it was a mistake to make such posts and assured that it would not be repeated in future.

Circle Officer (CO) Praveen Singh said that prima facie it seemed that there was no reason to suspect the intention of the teacher and besides, she has given a written apology by accepting her fault and an assurance that she would not to do so in the future.
