Priyanka targets UP govt over rise in crime

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on targeted the Uttar Pradesh government over the law and order situation in the state.

Citing graphs to compare the rise in crimes against women and Dalits in Uttar Pradesh to that of other states, Priyanka said, "These figures point towards the rising crimes and the tightening grip of crime in UP. The scathing comments came in the wake of rising crimes in the state of late, with criminal Vikas Dubey and his henchmen gunning down eight brave cops of UP Police.

Four days after the gruesome incident, Dubey and most of his men are still absconding with the UP Police having no clue about their whereabouts.

Priyanka Gandhi said hiding figures was the main reason why the “criminals were unstoppable” in the state. “They have complete protection from the government. Our hardworking and honest officers and jawans are paying a price because of this,” she added.
