Passengers arriving to India from abroad are having a tough time at the airports.
Passengers coming from China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, France, Spain....
... and Germany have been put on a ‘mandatory’ 14-day quarantine.
Lack of clarity amongst health authorities and airport staff is making the task tough
There is no clarity about passenger accommodation for quarantine process
People are complaining about having to wait for over six hours at the airport
In some cases people are being made to wait even longer.
Most of the passengers have to endure a harrowing time beginning at Delhi airport
and culminating at a government quarantine facility
These quarantine facilities lack basic sanitation and hygiene
Providing clean facilities was the least they could expect from the government was the refrain.
People complained that at the airport they were made to sit on the floor.
No passenger was provided food or water and had no access to washrooms
"Those who may have been carrying the virus may have infected the rest...
...as they were made to sit together for hours",said one of the passengers
The passports are being seized the moment passengers reach India
People are being told that they can ‘survive’ without food for a few hours
People are being made to sleep in a hall that has beds next to each other
Even those who don’t have the virus may get it.
Mismanagement at the airports is increasing the woes of hundreds of passengers.
