Nation faces trouble over Citizenship Amendment Act

Major unrest swept throughout the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow.

In Delhi 20 Metro stations were closed down, internet services shut down in many parts of Delhi.

Police detained more than 1200 hundred peaceful protestors, drags women, uses force.

Police imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 in Delhi amid protests against the amended Citizenship Act.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "This government has no right to shut down colleges, telephones & the Internet, to halt metro trains and to impose #Section144 to suppress India's voice & prevent peaceful protests.

At Mandir Marg, at least 70 people were detained including Congress leader Ajay Maken’s family.
