Defeat corona with ‘ibadat’, Modi in Mann ki Baat  

PM Narendra Modi has hailed India's people-driven fight against coronavirus

Adressing the people through his Mann ki Baat programme Modi lauded his government's initiatives against corona war.

The PM said, " The world will remember India's people-driven initiatives.Our 'tali, thaali and diya' initiatives have kept the spirits high.

In the 64th edition of 'Mann ki Baat', Modi said the country is modifying itself according to the needs of lockdown

He appealed to the people to join the covidwarriors.gov.in platform to contribute in the time of crisis

Prime Minister said during coronavirus pandemic India has changed the way it celebrated it's festivals

He greeted the country on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya and reassured ample availability of food grains in the country

He said, as the holy month of Ramadan is on, we must do more 'ibadat' and pray for a corona- free Eid

The Prime Minister said that the world is saying, 'Thank You India' for all the help India is rendering in the hour of need

The PM  praised the farmers who are toiling hard to meet food demands of the country during lockdown

He also praised the police, railways and aviation employees for there contribution during the lockdown

The death toll due to Covid-19 in the country has risen to 779 and the number of cases to 24,942

Narendra Modi pushed for more vigilance from citizens and appealed to maintain social distancing.

"We should not be overconfident. We should not presume that COVID-19 will not enter our homes, offices and colonies.

We have to stay vigilant.  I appeal to you again. 'Do gajj doori, bahut hai Zaroori," PM Modi said

PM added , "COVID-19 has changed our vision towards life, now we acknowledge those who work for us"

Urging citizens to adapt to wearing masks PM  said, "Mask has become a symbol of a civilized society"

He said, "We are also realising that spitting has become hazardous.Now we have to work to end this habit."

However in his address, Prime Minister skipped all the crucial questions

He did not mention how the government is preparing for the exit plan after the lockdown ends on 3 May

Prime Minister Modi also did not talk about the surge in cases, lack of testing kits and stranded workers

He also did not talk of any plans to revive the economy, employment crisis and dying MSMEs
