The Congress party has recently released ‘women’s manifesto’ ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, which will take place in February or March next year.
Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched the manifesto titled ‘Shakti Vidhan’, during a press conference in Lucknow, which focuses widely on women empowerment.

At the press conference she asserted,
“Women empowerment is possible only when women get equal rights and get respect. Congress is committed to give equal rights and respect to women power.”
Priyanka promised if the Congress party comes to power it would make education accessible to women by giving smartphones to students studying in Class 10 to 12 and scooters to graduate students.
From reserving 40% of its election tickets for women, to alloting 40% of the 20 lakh new jobs to women, that the party has decided to create in the state, after coming in position, Priyanka promised all good things to the voters.

The manifesto also has the offer of 3 free LPG cylinders for women and guarantees every woman, senior citizen and widow in the state that they would get a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 while every newborn girl child would get a fixed deposit in her name.
The party also promised a medical cover of Rs 10 lakh for women for any kind of disease or illness.
Indicating the issue of women safety, Priyanka stated that the Congress wants 25% of the police force to include women and all the chowkis would have at least one woman officer and constable once they will be in power.
