Elina Svitolina and Barbora Strycova will be playing their first ever Wimbledon semi-finals against Serena Williams and Simona Halep respectively.
Karolina Muchova was defeated by Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-4 at Wimbledon giving her, her first Grand Slam semi-final match.
Down 4-1 in the opening set, Svetolina broke back when Muchova served at 5-3 and won the next three games. In the second set, Muchova broke again only for Svitolina to win the next five games. Muchova’s missed backhand return helped Svitolina convert her first match point.
