The excited ‘Biliebers’—as Justin Bieber fans throughout the world are referred to as—who had arrived at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday for an experience of a lifetime, were disappointed when their idol was mostly lip syncing his songs.
They had paid anything between ₹4,060 and ₹76,790, and some had perhaps bought the tickets in instalments (yes, bookmyshow offered EMIs on tickets!) too but were left wondering the ‘Purpose’ of the tour if Beiber only wanted to lip sync, not sing.
There were many B-Town celebrities attending the concert. According to an Economic Times report, the concert had a staggering sale of 60,000 tickets.
But, Beliebers thought the Mumbai concert was a management failure. “India shouldn’t take responsibility for such events when they can’t even provide us with the basic facilities. Bieber didn’t lip sync throughout, but the event management failed. I had to shout a few times to get water as well,” said Tejashri Joshi who attended the concert.
Another Belieber, who didn’t want to be named and was in the VVIP box, said, “It was poorly organised but Justin performed well. We weren’t provided with the promised merchandises among other things and the people with VVIP tickets and Platinum tickets were allocated the same stall and even bookmyshow volunteers were unaware of the seating arrangements.”
After paying such a humongous amount for the concert, it was but natural for the fans to be unhappy with Bieber, who had become a YouTube sensation with his song Baby. The social media soon flooded with people’s reaction and Indian fans aggressively trolled the concert.
Here are some sarcastic tweets on the much-hyped Bieber show.
