CBI judge Loya’s son under pressure, probe death, says uncle

The death of BH Loya is being "politicised", Anuj Loya, son the deceased judge said in a press conference on Sunday. He claimed that his family did not want a probe into his father's sudden death in Nagpur on December 1, 2014.

Anuj also maintained that the family had no suspicions now regarding the death, but they were being "harassed" and "victimised".

At the time of his death, judge Loya was presiding over a trial into the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in which BJP chief Amit Shah is the main accused. “My family had some suspicions earlier. But now they are clear,” Anuja, 21-year-old law student, told media. “I have no suspicions; so, (I) don't want any probe.”

However, Shrinivas Loya, the 81-year-old paternal uncle of the special CBI judge Brijgopal Harkishan Loya, told The Caravan that “the judge’s son Anuj Loya is ‘too young’ and likely ‘under pressure,’ after the 21-year-old addressed a press conference in Mumbai on Sunday, 14 January. He also demanded an inquiry into the death of the judge.

On the other side, the BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya posted a letter written by Anuj Loya, son of late Justice BH Loya, dated November 11, 2017 addressed to the editor of The Caravan. He accused some “political vultures” of using justice Loya’s death to get political mileage.
