Former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha is back in the news proving his detractors wrong. One of the most strident critics of the Modi government, Yashwant Sinha had gone incommunicado for quite some time.

Many believed that the bureaucrat-turned politician suffered a huge setback following Lok Sabha results, therefore chose to go into political hibernation.

But contrary to all these reports, he is back with his autobiography ‘Relentless’.

Yashwant Sinha is set to release his autobiography ‘Relentless’ soon, most likely in the first week of July, his aide told NH.

“He has been working on the book for last 7-8 months. However, due to election, he was compelled to take a short break. After the results, he finished some of the remaining chapters,” he said, adding that the “date for the release has not been confirmed yet”.

The publisher of the book, Bloomsbury has also made the announcement on Twitter.

According to Sinha’s aide, though the autobiography covers Yashwant Sinha’s personal journey, the focus remains on the society, politics and the people’s movement.

“When I was young and growing up in Patna, cinema halls used to advertise that they would show two films in one ticket on weekends. In my life’s story, you will see three films on one ticket,” Sinha told the media while describing the book.

Bloomsbury has also released a video on Twitter featuring Yashwant Sinha wherein he can be seen telling about the book.

“From JP and Chandra Shekhar to VP Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, the book gives an insight into the rise and fall of leaders and ideologies that have charted a unique course for our democracy amid fierce personal and political strife,” Bloomsbury said in a statement.

The 81-year-old politician, who joined the BJP in the 90s, had quit the party in 2018 alleging that “democracy in India is in great danger” under Modi raj.

Sinha launched and led many people’s movement against the Modi government in the past.

Notably, he has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding investigation in the Rafale deal along with the lawyer Prashant Bhushan and journalist Arun Shourie.
