Former IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan has given a deadline to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw National Population Register. He also gave a call for a march to Delhi- 'Dilli Chalo' through his tweet.
"Dear PM Narendra Modi, you have time till March to withdraw this NPR notification. After that, we the people, from every single state, are coming to Delhi and are going to stay put until it is withdrawn. Don't take it otherwise. We don't have an option," tweeted Kannan Gopinathan.

Explaining his tweet, Gopinathan said that if the government hasn’t decided on the modalities of NRC then what is the need for NPR.
“There's a reason why we demand it Narendra Modi. Because your Govt says NPR is the first step to NRC. You also say you have not decided on the modalities of NRC. Incoherent no? If you haven't thought about NRC yet why do NPR now? So, stop NPR until there's clarity on NRC.”

“CAA is unconstitutional. But even without CAA selective targeting through NPR and creation of doubtful citizens can be done. And as the exercise is going to start from April, there is a need to prioritise and push back NPR," said Gopinathan in another tweet.
